License and sites

One key for your account

Your account has one license key. Enter it on every site: each production site uses one place of your plan (1, 5 or 50 sites). You can see your sites, their GeneratePerf version and their last check in the License tab of your account.

Customers with an older per-site license keep their existing keys and renewal dates; they can switch to a yearly plan from the Billing tab of their account.

Staging and development sites

Staging, development and local copies are recognised automatically and never use a place in your plan, as long as they use your license key. GeneratePerf 3.1.3 and later send the WordPress environment type (WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE), and the update server also recognises:

• local and test extensions such as .local, .test or .localhost;
• sub-domains such as staging., preprod., dev. or recette.;
• IP addresses and the temporary domains of hosting companies.

Adding and removing sites

• Add a site: enter your key on it. It is attached to your account at its first update check if a place is free.
• Remove a site (yearly plans): in the License tab of your account, choose Remove next to the site. Its place is freed at once. If the site checks for updates again with your key, it comes back as soon as a place is free.

Beta channel

With the 5-site pack, the 50-site bundle or a custom plan of at least 5 sites, you can put sites on the beta channel yourself, one by one, in the License tab of your account (Join / Leave). A site on the beta channel receives pre-releases as updates, before everyone else: choose a staging or test site, and back up before updating. If you move to a plan without the beta channel, your sites go back to stable versions at the next release.

When your license ends

GeneratePerf keeps working with all your settings; your sites simply stop receiving new versions, and support stops, until you renew. Renew or change your plan from the Billing tab of your account.

If your key changes

If a key is revoked (for example after a key change requested from your account team), sites that still use the old key show a notice in their admin with a link to enter the new one. The License screen of GeneratePerf also shows the status of the key: valid, revoked, or not matching this site.
